Outreach and Mentorship

We grow the FIRST community by mentoring younger teams, hosting workshops, and running hands on robotics events. Outreach is part of how we build skills, confidence, and access for students across our area.

Mentorship

Teams we have supported through build reviews, programming help, CAD feedback, and competition preparation.

FalconX
FLL · Ashburn, VA
We worked with FalconX during practices to help them choose which missions to focus on and build a robot that could do them reliably. A lot of our time was spent testing, fixing small things that kept breaking, and helping them figure out a practice routine that actually made them better each week. We also gave feedback on their project and presentation so they felt more confident talking to judges.

MasterMinds
FLL · Ashburn
With MasterMinds, we mostly helped during build and practice sessions by catching wiring and build issues early and making the robot more consistent. We talked through mission strategy with them, then helped them test changes instead of guessing. We also helped them polish their presentation and outreach ideas so they were ready for competition.

AstroBytes
FTC · Chantilly
AstroBytes was in their rookie year, so we helped them get comfortable with how FTC works from the ground up. We did CAD and design check ins, talked through mechanism ideas, and helped debug code when things were not behaving. A big part of it was just being there as they figured out their first build season, helping them make steady progress and feel prepared going into competitions.
